Music Program

The Music AFA degree program offers a variety of college transfer music classes to help students build a solid foundation in Music Theory and basic piano skills, in addition to courses that enhance performance ability, including applied lessons, seminars, and various ensembles.

Music courses include beginning group lessons, private lessons, music appreciation, fundamentals of music, introduction to jazz, American music, music composition and history of rock music. Students have several performance opportunities: Community Choir, Jazz Ensemble, Onslow Winds, and Student Recitals.

The following courses are required.

  • Music Theory I-IV
  • Class Music I, II
  • Applied Music (private lessons) I-IV

Students are required to choose four courses from the following list.

  • Chorus I-IV
  • Band I-IV
  • Jazz Ensemble I-IV
  • Ensemble I-IV
