Theatre Program

The Theatre AFA degree program offers a comprehensive education in the theatre arts, covering acting, technical theatre, and artistic leadership. Our goal is to prepare our students to create their own opportunities for dramatic expression.

Classroom and studio training in theatre is supplemented through extracurricular production activities of the New River Players, our resident theatre company and college/community partnership. Students from all walks of life come together with faculty, staff, and members of the community to realize at least two yearly productions in the College’s Bodenhamer Auditorium.

The department is supported by an internationally recognized faculty, as well as guest artists from around the United States. In order to enhance the student experience, we encourage interaction with working artists of a professional caliber.
