Mathematics Department

“The essence of mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple.” ~S. Gudder

Whether you are taking Basic Arithmetic or Calculus III, the Mathematics Division at Coastal Carolina Community College can help you to reach your educational goals.

The Mathematics Department is comprised of twelve full-time instructors, each holding a Master’s Degree with a concentration in Mathematics as well as a Student Success Facilitator. These caring, dedicated, and engaging instructors are trained in effective teaching techniques.

Students pursuing our Pre-major in Engineering Degree can take advantage of our small class sizes and complete their Calculus, Physics, Computer Science and General Education requirements before transferring to a university. Students who need individual assistance can visit the Math Lab Tutoring Center in MS 207 for free tutoring in math, chemistry, and accounting. Our math instructors and tutors have the ability to “…make complicated things simple.”
