Verification

As part of the verification process, specified documents maybe requested by the institution to validate information listed on a Student Aid Report (SAR). Students may be selected for verification by the Central Processing System (CPS) via random selection or by institution selection. Students will receive a letter stating the specified items that will need to be completed and the identified documents that will have to be submitted in order to complete the verification process. Upon completion of a student’s verification process and determination of eligibility, the institution will send an award letter to the student. If a student does not provide specified documentation as requested by the institution by the last day of the summer semester for the academic year in which the student is applying for aid, the institution will designate the student’s file as inactive and the student’s opportunity for financial aid eligibility will be forfeited for that specified academic year.
