Microsoft Office Specialist
Each MOS exam covers a Microsoft Office application. The Office applications covered are Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Each application exam may be taken individually. Coastal Carolina Community College’s Division of Continuing Education offers MOS certification training.

MOS Testing Schedule and Cost
The $90 fee for each MOS application exam must be paid in advance of testing. Payment by cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover is accepted in the Hurst Continuing Education Building. Call 910.938.6294 for details.
Microsoft Office Boot Camp
Offered for both Office 2010 and 2013 this Level I class focuses on the MS Office environment. Applications reviewed include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Prerequisite: Students should be familiar with the keyboard and have basic computer skills.
Microsoft Office Introduction & Intermediate
This intermediate course is designed to build on the efficiency of your basic knowledge skills using Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access 2010. This course will also help prepare those students seeking the core or expert level of Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) Exams. Both classes are offered both seated and online.
Prerequisite: Students must have a working knowledge of the Windows environment. If taking the Intermediate level, a working knowledge of the four (4) Microsoft Office applications is also required.
Microsoft Excel Introduction (Online)
This 24-hour course provides instruction on the fundamentals of Microsoft Excel, offered entirely online. In addition to learning Microsoft Excel basics, you will also gain the skills you need to take the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification.
Spreadsheet Fundamentals Using Microsoft Excel
This 12-hour Microsoft Excel 2010 course provides instruction on spreadsheet creation, data entry, data entry modification, computation using functions, and program-related spreadsheet applications. Course length 12 hours.
Database Fundamentals Using Microsoft Access
This Access 2010 course provides the first step in learning how to use this powerful database program. The objective is to provide participants with a basic understanding of table design, entering data, and building queries to manipulate data. Course length 12 hours.
Microsoft Access Database to Design to Delivery
In this class, students will learn what’s new in the Access 2010 environment. Students will learn about the main parts of the application screen, create tables, forms, and queries. Course length 20 hours.
Microsoft PowerPoint Introduction through Advanced
From introducing the working environment to expanding the user’s knowledge of PowerPoint these courses cover methods to work more efficiently. No prior knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint is required for the introductory class but the Intermediate & Advanced courses are designed for students who have basic knowledge of PowerPoint 2010. Students will learn clipart, tables, charts, smart art and working with animation and transitions. Advanced topics include inserting audio and video, adding bookmarks and action buttons, as well as importing and exporting other office applications into PowerPoint. Students will also learn the steps needed to finalize and deliver a finished professional presentation. These classes will help prepare the student to take the Microsoft Office Specialist Exam (MOS) for the PowerPoint application.
