Introduction to Web Design

Get initiated into the world of Web Design! The Introduction to Web Design class covers the basics of designing and planning a web site through creating the final product. Using various web authoring and graphic programs such as Dreamweaver, SharePoint Designer, Photoshop, and MS Picture Manager, students will step through designing a web site including site definition, page layout, and working with graphics and photographs.

Course length: 20 or 24 hours

Intermediate Web Design Techniques

In this Intermediate Web Design course, you will learn how to create a website that moves beyond simple page layouts into the areas of complete Web site design. Using Dreamweaver CS5 and other software, you will learn to create, test, and upload a website; use Cascading Style Sheets for layout; and understand Search Engine Optimization (SEO).  Prerequisite: All participants should have completed the Web Design course or have some background experience using one of the following: Microsoft Expression, Adobe Dreamweaver, or HTML.

Design Fundamentals Using SharePoint Designer

This course will provide students with the basic skills to get started in SharePoint Designer. Students will use SharePoint Designer 2007 to create, customize, and manage SharePoint sites and learn how to use SharePoint Designer 2007 to supplement and maximize the design and development capabilities of SharePoint itself. Students will learn the design interface then launch into practical application of these concepts and tools.

Building Websites using WordPress

The Building Website using WordPress class covers the basics of designing and planning a web site/blog through creating the final product. Using WordPress, students will step through designing and customizing a web site/blog including using the WordPress cloud, using server hosting, and moving in between the two platforms.

Introduction to Adobe Photoshop CS6

This introductory level course shows you how to use Adobe Photoshop to perform many different image processing techniques. In this course, you will learn how to use several tools for selecting parts of images and how to move, duplicate and resize images. You will learn to use layers, layer effects, filters, painting and blending, and color modification. Also, you will learn how to create images of different formats for different applications.

Intermediate Dreamweaver CS6

This course builds on the concepts introduced in the Dreamweaver CS5 Introduction Course. Focusing on Dreamweaver’s website design tools, this course is designed to help students create a more attractive website. Also, learn how to use the Spry suite of tools. Prerequisites: Participants should be familiar with Dreamweaver and have some practice working in HTML.

Creating Web Animations Using Adobe Flash

Bring your website to life! A website with attractive and eye-appealing animations captivates the viewer. Learn to create and add animation to your website! This course introduces web design students to the world of animation using one of the most widely used and accepted animation programs, Adobe Flash CS5. In this introductory course, students will learn to create simple animations that can be imported into their web site. Concepts include vector vs. bitmap graphics, drawing tools, frame-by-frame animations, motion tweens, and special effects including animating type and using masks.

Adobe Acrobat Pro Essentials: Working with PDFs

This course will provide Acrobat users the skills they need to work efficiently with the components of the Adobe Acrobat Pro software. Explore how Acrobat technology works within the structure of today’s workplace and beyond. Topics include a thorough overview of the Adobe Acrobat workspace. Acrobat users then learn the functionality of the Portable Document Format. Creating PDFs, converting various types of documents to PDF, reviewing and sharing PDFs, modifying documents, using the Organizer, creating collections, advanced comments,  PDF forms,  electronic distribution, and exploring Adobe Acrobat’s security features are a few of the many highlights covered. This comprehensive class will give students a thorough foundation on the essentials of Adobe Acrobat.

Interacting with Skype, Facebook, and Twitter

Social networks are gaining momentum. There are thousands of social networks, each boasting millions of users. Social networks are not going away; they are not a fad. You will work with Facebook, Skype, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. Learn how social networks are becoming the standard for sharing everything from photos, blog posts and web bookmarks to company profiles and business networking.

Course length: 12 hours

Creative Web Design Certificate Program

The Creative Web Design Certificate program will provide students with the basics of Web site design, graphics and animation developed specifically for the Internet. You will explore the various site design models used in personal, commercial and government Web sites, and will design Web pages and Web sites utilizing a variety of techniques and software tools such as: Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash. To obtain the certification, students must take each of the four core class­es and then select two electives for a total of six classes.

Adobe InDesign Creative Cloud (CC)

This class is focused on editing and creating layouts for brochures, newsletters, books, magazines and even interactive documents. Class is taught on Adobe Creative Cloud. Who should take this class? This class is for anyone involved with desktop publishing – magazines, collateral material, ads, DVD covers, and even books can be created with InDesign. This is a great class for beginners just starting out with the tool.

Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud (CC) for Photographers

This Introduction to Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud training class teaches attendees how to manipulate images, edit motion-based content, and create image composites in Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud.   This is a great class for beginners just starting out with the tool.
