The personal training industry is projected to grow approximately 27% by the year 2016 (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2006). If you are serious about making a career move into fitness training get certified from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Whether you want to focus on everyday fitness or train elite athletes at the professional level, Coastal Carolina can help you launch your career. The Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) Program is being offered by Coastal Carolina Community College in a partnership with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. (NASM) This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of the personal fitness training profession. Upon completion of the course students should be prepared to take the NASM certification exam.
The Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) program will consist of 306 hours of class room and specific practical application training. Students will gain knowledge about the human body, training techniques and the physical application of sound, safe and productive personal trainer skills. Six hours of training will focus on American Heart Association CPR and AED certification.

NASM certification package fee of $450.00 will be due in full to Coastal Community College approximately 45 days prior to course ending date. This package will include practice tests and the voucher for the NASM CPT certification. Once this package is ordered it is NON-REFUNDABLE.
