Course Cancellation and Refund Policy
Refund Policy Requests for refunds will be processed by the Accounting Office as rapidly as possible and may take up to two to three weeks. All refunds are sent as a check to the student who was registered for the class. A refund shall not be made except under the following circumstances:
- A student who officially withdraws (in writing) from an extension class(es) prior to the first class meeting shall be eligible for a 100 percent registration and insurance refund. Also, a student is eligible for a 100 percent refund if an applicable class fails to “make” due to insufficient enrollment.
- After the respective class begins, a 75 percent registration refund shall be made upon the request of the student if the student officially withdraws (in writing) from the class prior to or on the 10 percent point of the scheduled hours of the class.
Note: This Rule is applicable regardless of the number of times the class meets or the number of hours the class is scheduled to meet.
- A 100 percent registration refund shall be made if the student officially withdraws (in writing) from a contact hour class prior to the first day of class of the academic semester or term or if the college cancels the class.
- A 75 percent refund shall be made if the student officially withdraws from a contact hour class on or before the tenth calendar day of the class.
- There are no refunds for Extra Fun or Motorcycle classes unless the college has to cancel the class.
- For applicable classes, none of the insurance fee is refundable once the class has started whether the student attended the first day of class or not.
Additional Fees
Course fees are noted with each course listing. Payment of these course fees is required before the first class session. Please check course listing for deadlines. Some courses have additional charges for supplies, insurance, or other essential expenses, which are also noted in the course descriptions. In most courses, students are responsible for purchasing any special materials required for the class. No registration is complete without the payment of all applicable fees or receipt of official authorization for payment from the registrant’s employer. Methods of payment include cash (on-site only); check, money order, or credit card (MasterCard or VISA) if registering on-site or by mail.
Continuing Education Unit (CEU)
Coastal Carolina Community College is authorized to award continuing education units (CEU’s) for the successful completion of non-credit occupational extension continuing education courses. One CEU is defined as 10 contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education program. The number of CEU’s awarded for a course is recorded on the continuing education transcript and on the certificate of completion. The CEU is widely accepted as a recognized standard of professional development.
Cancellation of Courses
Continuing education non-credit classes are subject to cancellation if enrollment is insufficient.
Company Registration
Arrangements can be made for companies to pay for classes by purchase orders, checks, or credit cards. Call (910) 938-6294 for information.
Pre-registration and pre-payment is required on all classes.
Pre-payment is required for the following classes:
Motorcycle, National Certified Bookkeeper, Online classes, X-Tra Fun classes, Nursing Assistant, Nursing Assistant Refresher, and Phlebotomy
Occupational Extension Course Repeat Policy
Students who take the same occupational extension course more than twice within a five-year period shall pay their cost for the course based on the amount of funds generated by a student membership hour for occupational extension multiplied by the number of actual hours the class is to be taught. This does not apply to fire, rescue, or law enforcement training courses taken by fire, rescue, or law enforcement personnel. Students may repeat occupational extension courses more than once if the repetitions are required for certification, licensure, or recertification.
