Military Specific Frequently Asked Questions

What is a service member’s duty status during the course?

All military students are officially assigned to II MEF G-3 Formal Schools.  This means students will not report to the parent command during the 30 days, just as during a TAD to the rifle range or NCO academy.  This includes activities such as formations, CIF runs, PT, urinalysis testing, armory draws, etc...Please note that barracks’ field days do not fall under the “TAD” rule and will not be used as an excuse for incomplete assignments.

How can I get a service member released from class?

A parent unit representative will need to contact the student’s chain of command at II MEF G-3 Formals Schools to release a student from class, regardless of the amount of release time.

Can parent unit representatives monitor a service member’s progress?

Unit representatives are welcome to inquire about their service member’s progress and are welcome to walk-in and attend class at any time during the course.   Please contact Mr. Ed Paradysz, Head Instructor at paradysze@coastalcarolina.edu for more specific inquiries about your service member.  Please note that students may not be removed from class without proper authorization from the military chain of command at II MEF.

Where should I report on the first day of class?

All students should report to the John A. LeJeune Education Center, Building 825, Room 414, Stone Street, Camp LeJeune.  For directions to the Education Center, please refer to the Campus Map.

What is the course dress code?

All military students will wear the prescribed proper working uniform of the day (camouflage utilities) during SLAC class time.
