Coastal Carolina Community College’s Music Department offers a pre-major in music and music education. A variety of college transfer music classes and lessons to help students build a solid foundation in music making, performing, teaching or composing are available to students.

Coastal’s Associate in Fine Arts program is specifically designed for students who wish to earn a baccalaureate degree. The curriculum prepares students to transfer course work to a four-year institution. Upon successful completion of the Associate in Fine Arts Degree, students will be eligible to be considered for admission as juniors to the following universities: ASU, ECU, FSU, NCA&T, NCCU, NCSA, UNC-A, UNC-CH, UNC-C, UNC-G, UNC-P, WCU, and WSSU.

The general education core for the Associate in Fine Arts Degree includes study in the areas of humanities and fine arts, social and behavioral sciences, natural sciences and mathematics, and English composition. Coastal’s music program also offers students the opportunity to earn college credit for participation in community band or community choir. The music faculty at Coastal is available to counsel both prospective and enrolled students interested in pursuing an education in the field of music.
