A quick guide to starting your online education at Coastal Carolina Community College. This information provides you with a tutorial on how to get around in your online class and to introduce you to the Blackboard courseware.
Where is my online class, how do I get to where I am going, and what is the web address (URL).
To get to your class, you need to open your web browser, and in the address box type prod.campuscruiser.com/coastalcarolina, then press Enter or click the GO button. You can also get there by setting your browser to coastalcarolina.blackboard.com. If you go to the Coastal web site, select the Campus Cruiser icon on the right side of the home page www.coastalcarolina.edu.
What am I supposed to do now?

Click Log In and and enter your Login name and password. Your Log in ID will be your first and last name followed by the last three digits of your Student ID number, without any spaces (ex. marysmith789). Your Password will be the word “coastal” followed by the last three digits of your Student ID number (ex. coastal789). If for some reason you are experiencing difficulty up to this point, call the helpdesk at (910) 938-6123.
Ok, I’ve got this cool looking screen, now what?
If everything has gone right up to this point, you should now be looking at a screen similar to this one.
Click the Blackboard tab.
If you are using Firefox as your browser, you may get a Security Warning dialog box. Just click Continue to log into Blackboard. You should now be looking at a screen similar to this one.
Your next step is to e-mail your instructor and let him/her know that you made it to class! This should be done on the first day of the semester, after 12:00 noon. Select each online course that you are enrolled in from the My Courses area.
Select the Communication or Tools tab from the left side of the screen, select the Send Email icon, and then All Instructor Users.
