Certified Ophthalmic Assistant to instruct students in the Evening Ophthalmic Assistant Program which starts on January 11, 2016. Candidates should be knowledgeable; self-motivated; fluent with Word and PowerPoint; and demonstrate strong presentation, organizational, and communication skills. Teaching experience is preferred, but not required. If without previous teaching experience, applicants should be willing to learn student/teacher dynamics and instructional strategies for adult learners. Credentialed as a JCAHPO COA, or COT, or COMT, or be a Board Certified Ophthalmologist. One year of experience within the last four (4) years in set-up and preparation for various ophthalmic operations, testing for visual acuity, color vision, performing automated visual fields, corneal topography, applanation tonometry, and others.
Salary: Hourly, based on education and experience. 3 – 6 hours per week.
