Military Academic Skills Program (MASP)

The Military Academic Skills Program offers basic skills training at no cost to active-duty enlisted personnel. Each four-week course provides a review of reading, writing, and math basics; reinforcement of communication and grammar skills; partical math application; lifelong learning skills for workplace and career emphasis; and computer assisted instruction.

Each course will include:

  • Review of reading and writing
  • Math basics
  • Reinforcement of communication skills
  • Practical math applications
  • Instructional support for ASVAB and MOS qualification
  • Lifelong learning skills for workplace and career emphasis
  • Computer assisted instruction

Day or evening classes meet at John A. Lejeune Education Center, Building 825, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Class schedules and registration information is available at the Base Education Office, Building 202. New classes begin every 4 to 6 weeks.

Day Classes
Monday – Friday, (Communication Skills, 0800 – 1130)
Monday – Thursday, (Math Essentials, 1230 – 1600)

Evening Classes
Monday/Wednesday (Communication Skills, 1700 – 2100)
Tuesday/Thursday (Math Essentials, 1700 – 2100)
