Become a Certified Beekeeper | Class Starts March 11

This course offering is the perfect place for the bee novice to start a new adventure in beekeeping. This class is designed for the beginner who is interested in learning how to properly raise, manage and keep bees.

Learn how to get started in the fascinating hobby of beekeeping and be successful. Topics covered during this course will include: tools, equipment and materials required to begin keeping your own colony; and producing your own fresh honey.

The class will also provide you with the basic knowledge about the history of beekeeping, strains/types and biology of honey bees, beekeeping in urban areas, seasonal management, and pest and disease management. Upon completion, course participants will be well on their way to becoming a certified beekeeper recognized by the NC State Beekeepers Association.

Attainable Beekeeper Certification Levels:

  • Certified
  • Journeyman
  • Master
  • Master Craftsman

So, come on out, have some fun and learn how to raise your own bees. 24 hours.
