Who are we and Why are we Important?
The Humanities Department of Coastal Carolina Community College is comprised of three branches: communication, humanities/ philosophy, and religion. Each branch enhances not only a student’s education, but multiple facets of a student’s life. By acquiring an understanding of the complexities of human relationships, the ability to communicate their thoughts effectively, and the maturity to view philosophical and religious issues through an unbiased lens, our students succeed not only in gaining an education, but also by becoming productive citizens on the world stage.
Our Goal and Our Mission
The mission of the Humanities Department of Carolina Community College is to create a stimulating learning environment based on mutual respect, support, and collaborative learning, where students are actively engaged in the pursuit of knowledge and the acquisition of life skills. As a result, students are empowered to succeed no matter what their learning styles, their demographics, or their future goals.
