Medina Colon

Medina Colon

Medina Colón is an adjunct Medical Office Programs instructor in the Continuing Education Department for Coastal Carolina Community College. She is a Certified Medical Coder, as well as a Certified Medical Biller with the American Academy of Professional Coders. She grew up in NJ and now resides in Richlands NC.

Rocklyn McNair

Rocklyn McNair

Rocklyn McNair is an Adjunct Math Instructor with a degree in Civil Engineering and graduate training in Process Improvement.  A retired Coast Guard officer, he has 20 years of experience in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Industrial Engineering management, Contingency Preparedness and Emergency Management.  Having provided protocol support to The President’s family and staff as a member of The White House Social Aide Program for over six years, he still enjoys staying informed about international relations in addition to advancements in math and engineering disciplines.

Silja Marini

Silja Marini

Silja Marini is a Basic Skills Instructor in the Academic Studies Center. She tutors Math and Economics in the College and Career Readiness Program. Silja is a Finnish national and obtained her education in her native Finland. She received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science both in Economics from the University of Turku. Before joining Coastal in the beginning of 2018 she worked in sales management. For Silja it’s all about discovering people’s dreams and matching them with an educational path that will allow those dreams to become a reality. She believes there’s nothing better than encouraging academic excellence and finding our students opportunities to do great things.

Amy Massman

Amy Massman

Amy Massman is an Instructor in the Basic Skills Department and a Math/Science Tutor in the Academic Studies Center at Coastal Carolina Community College.  A Michigan native, she studied at Michigan State University to obtain both a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching and Curriculum.  In addition to working in adult education, Amy is a former middle school science teacher and enjoys helping students make the transition into college.   Amy believes in being a lifelong learner and continuing to question and explore beyond completion of your studies.   Outside of school, she adores being a supportive military spouse and dog-mom, spending time with family, and learning about health and wellness. 

John Weisenreider

John Weisenreider

John Weisenreider has been an adjunct history instructor at Coastal since 2009.  He grew up in New Jersey, received Bachelor of Arts in History and English Literature from Arizona State University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from UNCW.  He lives in Wilmington and enjoys spending time with his Retriever-Border Collie Ransom, gardening, going to the beach, reading, and watching movies.

Jose Lopez Ramirez, Jr.

Hello, my name is Jose Lopez Ramirez, Jr.  I am a currently enrolled in the Information Technology – Network Management program at Coastal Carolina Community College.  I have completed five semesters at Coastal and am currently taking summer classes while working as a Student Ambassador. This is my second year working as a Student Ambassador. I hope to graduate in Spring 2019 and move on to Western Carolina University where I will pursue my bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems.

Nadia Trevizo

Hello my name is Nadia Trevizo. I just graduated from Coastal Carolina Community College with my Associates in Arts degree. I was also the federal work-study for the CCCC Camp Lejeune office. I have been accepted to finish my bachelors in Spanish with Arizona State University, and will be graduation Fall of 2019.

Erik Watson-Lowe

Hello, my name is Erik Watson-Lowe. This is my first year being a student ambassador. I am a full-time student at Coastal Carolina Community College. I am currently enrolled into the Associates of Science program. I plan to graduate from Coastal next semester and transfer to NCSU to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Computer Programming.

Hello, my name is Alisha Ortiz. I recently graduated Coastal with an Associates in Arts and will be attending UNCW for a Bachelors in Education. I became a student ambassador because I enjoy helping others. I hope to share all the wonderful opportunities that coastal had to offer me with incoming students so that their experiences are just as great.
