What to expect on the day of in-person RISE testing:

  • Bring proof of identification (i.e., driver’s license, military ID, etc.).
  • You will complete the test on a computer using your MyCCCC Portal login. 
  • The test is not timed; however, it will take approximately two hours to complete per test type (i.e., math or English).
  • You will be asked to place your cellphone and/or smart watch in an envelope that you will keep with you during the test.
  • For the math placement test, you will be provided a calculator, scrap paper, a formula sheet, and a pencil.
  • The tests are multiple choice.

What to expect on the day of virtual RISE testing:

  • Ensure you have already completed the Academic Integrity Agreement and emailed it to hardisonr@coastalcarolina.edu.
  • You will need to provide a calculator, scrap paper, and a pencil for yourself. You will be provided with a formula sheet via your Coastal email on the day of testing.
  • You will complete the test on a computer using your MyCCCC Portal login. 
  • The test is not timed; however, it will take approximately two hours to complete per test type (i.e., math or English).
  • You will receive information about how to begin your RISE assessment approximately five minutes prior to your scheduled test date/time. Please ensure you are logged into your MyCCCC Portal and click on the “EdReady” Tile.
  • The tests are multiple choice.

If you have met one of the Placement Testing Benchmarks, and feel as though you may not need testing, please contact an Academic Advisor/Counselor.

  • TABE 9/10 for Tuition Assistance (90 minutes).
  • TABE 9/10 reading for EOD Lateral Move (25 minutes).
  • TABE 11/12 for Continuing Education programs (4 hours).
  • Test proctoring.
