Attention Foodies and Culinary Hobbyist this class is designed just for you! Students of different skill levels are welcome to learn techniques to be a more efficient cook for personal or professional reasons.
Work side by side Coastal’s Chefs as they share and demonstrate foundational techniques to improve your cooking skills. Students will learn culinary skills to be more proficient in the kitchen such as:
- Kitchen navigation and sanitation
- Knife skills: mince, dice, chop, julienne in a safe, efficient manner
- Cooking methods: bake, boil, broil, roast, sear, and sauté
- Basic sauce preparation
Students will use these skills to prepare restaurant style appetizers and entrees with fresh foods in season. Before you know it, you will be on your way to chefdom. Who knows, you may discover that a career as a professional chef may be in your future, or gain a greater love of cooking!
