Coastal Carolina Community College is invested in full compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). It is the student’s responsibility to request reasonable accommodations and provide written documentation in a timely manner since federal law prohibits the college from collecting data in the admissions process.
The main campus of Coastal Carolina Community College has been designed with the elimination of physical obstacles so that buildings, washrooms, laboratories, and classrooms are readily accessible to and usable by those with physical disabilities.
Any student or applicant for admission with a disability who wishes to request some accommodation must contact the admissions office and ask for the Coastal Carolina Community College Request for Accommodation form. If accommodation is not requested in advance in order to provide the College sufficient and adequate time to meet the student’s or applicant’s needs, Coastal cannot guarantee the availability of a reasonable accommodation when it is needed.
Accommodation services are provided in accordance with the specific needs of the student based upon the documentation of the disability. Referrals are made, as needed, to other community agencies. For more information or to make an appointment, contact Emily Ellis, ADA Coordinator, in the student services division at (910) 938-6331 or email her at email@example.com.
