This 140-hour, non-credit course prepares the Medical Administrative Assistant for a role in today’s medical offices and facilities. This national certification program is designed to give students an opportunity to gain skills necessary for this growing job market. Topics include basic medical terminology, communication and interpersonal skills, administrative duties, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and privacy practices, and office and financial procedures.
Upon successful completion of the class, the student will be eligible to take the National Certified Medical Administrative Assistance (CMAA) exam through the National Healthcareeer Association (NHA).
