Manicurist Program (NC State Licensure Preparation)

In the Manicurist program, students will learn about safety and sanitation, the anatomy of hands and feet, the chemistry of nail care products and nail polish, manicure techniques, pedicure techniques, and hand manipulation.  Students will learn how to make artificial nails, sculpt nails, apply tips, and explore nail art.  The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment which enables students to develop manipulative skills and an introduction to business management.

The program prepares graduates to take the North Carolina Cosmetology State Board Licensing Exam, and upon passing, be licensed and qualify for employment in beauty and nail salons, as a platform artist in related cosmetology industries.

This has been identified as a limited enrollment program and involves deadlines.  Contact Continuing Education at 910.938.6294 or for additional information.

Please see the Continuing Education Schedule of Classes for details on upcoming classes, including prerequisites and additional fees.  Additional fees for supplies and state licensure exam are estimated at $800.
